Maple Falls
Maple Falls is a beautiful little town that is located about 30 miles west of Bellingham in Whatcom County. It is a very popular stop along the Mt Baker Highway. The scenic town is surrounded by forests and borders the Nooksack River. It is an ideal community for those wanting to live a rural lifestyle, close to the mountains.
Silver Lake & Silver Lake Park are among the main attractions of Maple Falls. One of the Northwest's best camping parks, all form of recreation one associates with the outdoors is available at Silver Lake Park. The 180-acre lake is nestled in a beautiful mountain valley,and has something for everyone, abundant opportunities for fishing and boating.. There are day use areas with tables and BBQ's overlooking beaches.
Silver Lake Park can accommodate tents, trailers, and RVs. There is also a Horse Camp with serviced campsites, kitchen shelters, and stables with tie stalls for park users' horses, and access to many miles of trails.
There are rustic cabins overlooking the lake and the Day Lodge is a beautiful setting for weddings, seminars or any kind of party with beautiful lake views and easy water access.
Hang-gliding from the top of Black Mountain has become a popular sport in Maple Falls.
